Meet the Crew

The Crew of the Cove

Every cove has its people.

Puffin Cove has its crew.

Each one keeps a small part of the harbor running, not for show, but because that’s simply what they do at the cove.

Some are seen every day. Some are heard before they are seen. Some keep watch in the quiet hours. Together, they give Puffin Cove its life.

The morning came in quiet…
fog still sitting low over the water.

Puffin was already up at the lighthouse,
looking out past where the sea meets the sky.

Down along the dock—
thump… thunk… thump… thunk…

Kite had started something again.

Nobody knew what he called it…
but he seemed proud of it.

Selma didn’t look up from the Harbour Gift Shop.

“Might need that later…”

Owl Wils gave a slow blink from the stage.

“Some things take practice…
others don’t.”

Syl passed through without a sound.

Ralph had already gone.

By evening, the fog lifted just enough—
and the Cove settled into itself again.

Like it always does.

Life at the Cove

The crew of Puffin Cove each have their own rhythm, their own place, and their own way of moving through the day.

Some keep the light. Some keep watch. Some fix what needs fixing. Some run the dock a little too fast.

But all of them belong here.

The crew is settled.
The harbor is alive.
Welcome to Puffin Cove.

Puffin George, Selma, Kite, Owl Wils, Syl, and Raven Ralph stand together at the harbour gift shop as autumn arrives.
The crew is back at Puffincove, sorting supplies, tending the harbour, and making ready for the winter months.

Kite

Dock Runner

Kite is usually heard before he is seen.

With one boot rolled down and one boot up, Kite comes down the dock with a familiar sound — THUMP… THUNK. He might forget where he was going, but he never forgets where the food is.

Always moving, always searching, and always thinking about his next meal, Kite brings energy and laughter to the Cove. He means well, even when the plan takes a turn.

Owl Wils

Logbook Keeper

Owl Wils keeps the logbook close and watches over the cove from the old fishing stage.

Wils notices the small things and records the happenings, the odd mishap, and the crew’s many incident reports. When a reminder is needed, he usually has it in the logbook.

Fox Syl

Night Watch

Syl is not seen much during the day.

Most times, Syl is curled up sleeping near the rocks and lets the daytime carry on without much fuss. When evening comes and the harbour grows quiet, he takes notice and keeps watch through the softer hours.

Raven Ralph

Coastal Scout

Ralph wanders beyond Puffincove and is sometimes out of sight for a while.

When Ralph comes back, he brings photographs, stories, and discoveries from the wider coast. And sometimes he returns just in time to hear Kite ask where George is going.

Selma

Selma keeps the Harbour Gift Shop and looks after the supplies. Before the last supply boat heads out for winter and won’t return until spring, she checks with everyone to see what Puffincove still needs.

Always saving things, always putting something aside for later.
If you need it, there’s a good chance Selma already has it tucked away somewhere.

George

Puffin George keeps the light on and looks after the working parts of Puffincove. When Kite’s next idea sends him down the dock, George tries to keep things steady.

Miss Light Keeper

Miss Light Keeper is the quiet heart of Puffincove. She keeps the kettle on and carries the old stories that help the crew remember where they came from.
