The Crew of the Cove
Every cove has its people.
Puffin Cove has its crew.
Each one keeps a small part of the harbor running, not for show, but because that’s simply what they do at the cove.
Some are seen every day. Some are heard before they are seen. Some keep watch in the quiet hours. Together, they give Puffin Cove its life.
The morning came in quiet…
fog still sitting low over the water.
Puffin was already up at the lighthouse,
looking out past where the sea meets the sky.
Down along the dock—
thump… thunk… thump… thunk…
Seagull had started something again.
Nobody knew what he called it…
but he seemed proud of it.
Squirrel didn’t look up from the store.
“Might need that later…”
Owl gave a slow blink from the stage.
“Some things take practice…
others don’t.”
Fox passed through without a sound.
Raven had already gone.
By evening, the fog lifted just enough—
and the Cove settled into itself again.
Like it always does.
Life at the Cove
The crew of Puffin Cove each have their own rhythm, their own place, and their own way of moving through the day.
Some keep the light. Some keep watch. Some fix what needs fixing. Some run the dock a little too fast.
But all of them belong here.
The crew is settled.
The harbor is alive.

Puffin
Keeper of the Light
Calm, thoughtful, and patient, Puffin keeps an eye on the harbor and carries the lantern when the light begins to fade. When the day gets busy, Puffin reminds the cove to slow down and take things one step at a time.
Puffin is the steady heart of the cove.
Sea Gull
Dock Runner
Sea Gull is usually heard before he is seen.
With one boot rolled down and one boot up, Sea Gull comes across the dock with a familiar sound — THUMP… THUNK.
Always moving, always searching, and always meaning well, Sea Gull brings energy, confusion, and laughter to the cove. He tries to help, though things do not always go quite to plan.
Owl
Harbor Watcher
Owl watches the cove from high above, usually from the old fishing stage.
Quiet and observant, Owl notices what others miss. Owl does not say much, but when a reminder is needed, it usually comes at the right time.
Fox
Night Watchperson
Fox is not seen much during the day.
Most times, Fox is curled up sleeping somewhere near the rocks, letting the daytime carry on without much fuss. But when evening comes and the harbor grows quiet, Fox takes notice of the cove and keeps watch through the softer hours.
Raven
Traveler of the Coast
Raven flies farther than the rest of the crew.
Sometimes Raven returns with photographs, stories, and discoveries from beyond the cove, bringing back pieces of the wider coast to share at Puffin Cove. What Raven finds helps keep the harbor connected to the world beyond it.
Squirrel keeps the Harbour Store.
Always saving things, always putting something aside for later.
If you need it, there’s a good chance Squirrel already has it tucked away somewhere.
